Judgment J. S. Khehar, J. 1. Through the instant writ petition, the petitioner seeks a revision of the pay scale of the post of Professor with effect from 1.9.1996. He also seeks removal of an anomaly in his pay, inasmuch as, the pay of one of the feeder cadre posts is equivalent to the present pay scale of the post of Professor. Insofar as the instant issue is concerned, it is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner, that the petitioner has been making representations from time to time. The last such representation was made by the petitioner on 14.12.2005. Since nothing positive emerged out of the said representation, the petitioner issued a legal notice dated 17.3.2006 (Annexure P7 ). It is, however, pointed out that no decision has been taken even on the aforesaid legal notice. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that petitioner will be satisfied if the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 i. e. the Principal Secretary, Department of Research and medical Education, Punjab requiring him to take a final decision on the aforestated legal notice dated 17.3.2006 (Annexure P7 ). Notice of motion. 3. On our asking, Mr. Ashok Aggarwal, Additional Advocate punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4. 4. Learned counsel for the respondents states that he has no objection to the disposal of the instant writ petition in terms of the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 5. In view of the above, without going into the merits of the case, we consider it just and appropriate to dispose of the instant writ petition with a direction to respondent No.1 i. e. the Principal Secretary, department of Research and Medical Education, Punjab, to take a final decision on the legal notice dated 17.3.2006 (Annexure P-7), by passing a well reasoned speaking order within three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. We also grant liberty to the petitioner to supplement the aforesaid legal notice by a further representation which shall be submitted by the petitioner to respondent No.1 along with certified copy of this order. Disposed of accordingly. Order Dasti on payment of usual charges.
