Judgment :- (Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying this Court to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the secretary to Government, Tamil Development, Culture and Religious Endowments Department, Fort St.George,Chennai 600 009, the respondent herein to pass orders on the disciplinary proceedings against the petitioner on 23.12.1998 within a time frame.) This petition is filed for a direction directing the respondents to pass orders on the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner by proceedings dated 23.12.1998. It is seen that even on an earlier occasion by an order dated 22.11.1999, passed in W.P.No.18637 of 1999 this Court has directed the respondents to pass appropriate orders on the disciplinary proceedings initiated on 23.12.1998. It is also seen that subsequently, this Court by another order dated 27.9.2000 passed in W.P.No.16597 of 2000 has issued further direction and inspite of these two directions passed by this Court, no order has been passed and in view of the same, the present writ petition has been filed. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents. 3. Learned Government Advocate would fairly submit that the respondents will pass orders within a period of two months. 4. Taking into consideration of the submission made by the learned counsel for the Government Advocate, the respondents are directed to pass orders on the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner, dated 23.12.1998 and such order shall be passed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after giving opportunity to the petitioner and in accordance with law making it clear that no further extension of time will be granted and the respondents shall pass orders within a time stipulated above. Writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
