Judgment :- (Writ Appeal filed under Clause 15 of the Letters of Patent against the order of the learned Judge Mrs. Justice Praba Sridevan dated 01.12.2004 made in W.P.No.15304 of 2004. P. Sathasivam, J. This is a petition filed by the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University through its Registrar to condone the delay of 174 days in filing the writ appeal against the order dated 01.12.2004 made in Writ Petition No.15304 of 2004. 2. Though the affidavit of the Registrar of Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University runs into 7 paragraphs, upto paragraph 6 the deponent has concentrated only on the merits of the appeal. In paragraph 7 a vague statement has been made to the effect that the relevant papers and required particulars were received in the month of February and after saying so, it has been stated that there is a delay of 174 days in filing the appeal. Admittedly, there is no reference with regard to when the order was passed by the learned Judge, when the appellant applied for copy of the order, when the same was furnished by the Registry and what were the steps taken by the appellant / University after receipt of the copy of the order. In the absence of such details, we are of the view that the reasons stated in paragraph 7 cannot be accepted. 3. Apart from this, the learned counsel appearing for the first respondent has brought to our notice that consequent to the order of the learned single Judge, the first respondent wrote the examination and she was successful and according to him, as on date she is a practising Advocate of this Court. Taking note of the above fact, we are of the view that the petitioner has not furnished any acceptable reason for condoning the delay of 174 days. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. Consequently, WASR.No.48953 of 2005 is rejected.
