ORDER 1. Heard counsel for the parties. 2. These writ applications pertain to payment of due salary and allowances to the petitioners. 3. It is contended by counsel for the petitioners that without any rhyme or reason, legal, dues, as enumerated in the writ Applications, have not been paid to the petitioners. 4. Mr. T.N. Matin, learned counsel for the University, on the basis of instruction, received University, submitted that claims of the petitioners were examined and total a sum of Rs. 62,84,381/- have been found admissible by the University to the petitioners of these 27 writ applications. It is further submitted that the State Government by letter no. 704 dated 12.4.2006 has released a sum of rupees sixteen cores and odd towards payment of salary, arrears, retiral dues, etc. to the employees of the University and the College, which has been received recently in the month of April 2006. He also contended that the University has started making payment to the petitioners and finally the admitted dues will be paid shortly. 5. Having considered the grievances of the writ petitioners and the stand of the University, it is hoped and expected that admissible dues must have been paid to the petitioners by now out of allotment of rupees sixteen crores to them, as referred to above. However, it is observed that in case, the entire dues are not paid to the petitioners and only part payment is made the petitioners will be at liberty to file their respective representations before the Vice-Chancellor of the University enumerating the left over amounts payable to them. The Vice-Chancellor of the University shall examine the individual's case and thereafter shall pass speaking order within a period of four weeks from the date of its filing. In case, the Vice-Chancellor would be satisfied that some amounts are yet to be paid towards dues of the petitioners, he shall immediately direct for payment of dues to the petitioners forthwith and not beyond a period of four weeks from the date of such decision. 6. With the direction/observation aforesaid, these applications are disposed of.
