Judgment H.R. Panwar, J.-Arguments heard and concluded. S.B. Criminal Revision Petition No. 84/2006 is allowed and S.B. Criminal Revision Petition No. 94/2006 is partly allowed. The operative portion of the order reads as under:- “Consequently, S.B. Criminal Revision Petition No. 84/2006 filed by petitioner Sher Singh is allowed; the Judgment s and orders passed by the trial Court as affirmed by the Appellate Court against him are set aside and petitioner Sher Singh is acquitted of the offences under Sections 324 and 323, IPC on being compounded by injured Sultan Singh. S.B. Criminal Revision Petition No. 94/2006 filed by petitioner Sultan Singh is partly allowed. While setting aside the Judgment s and orders of the trial Court as affirmed by the Appellate Court, to the extent of convicting and sentencing petitioner Sultan Singh for the offence under Sections 324 and 323, IPC, on these offences being compounded by injured Sher Singh, petitioner Sultan Singh is acquitted of the offences under Sections 324 and 323, IPC. While maintaining the conviction of petitioner Sultan Singh for the offence under Section 326, IPC, the sentence of imprisonment is reduced to the period of imprisonment already undergone by him. 2. Both the petitioners are on bail. Their bail bonds stand discharged (See separate order).
