Ashoka Kumar Thakur v. Union of India

2006-05-30

ARIJIT PASAYAT, LOKESHWAR SINGH PANTA

body2006
JUDGMENT : Arijit Pasayat, J. It has come to our notice that notwithstanding the clear indication given by this Court that in view of the fact that issues relating to reservations for Other Backward Classes are being examined by this Court, agitations, protests and strikes relating to those issues should be immediately called off; more particularly in greater public interest. Surprisingly, the contrary seems to be happening. This is a very serious matter. It is ultimately the people who want to be treated at the hospitals get affected. 2. List these Writ Petitions tomorrow, the 31st May, 2006. 3. Let learned Additional Solicitor General file a memorandum indicating the latest position as regards the agitations, protests and strikes relating to the issues. It shall be indicated as to whether they are being continued notwithstanding knowledge about the view indicated by the Court yesterday. 4. Copy of the order be given to learned Additional Solicitor General.
