Judgment :- (Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of writ of habeas corpus as stated therein.) P. Sathasivam, J. The petitioner by name R. Kumari, has filed this petition, seeking direction to the respondents for production of her minor daughter Rajalakshmi, aged about 17 years. 2. Pursuant to our direction, the detenue Rajalakshmi appeared before us. According to her, her date of birth is 24.03.1989, i.e., 17 years and as on date she is a minor. Though she has some grievance against her mother, petitioner herein, after enquiring the detenue as well as the petitioner, we are of the view that there is no serious allegation against her. 3. In spite of our persuasion, the detenue is adamant and determined not to go along with her mother. In the light of the attitude of the detenue and of the fact that she being a minor, we have no other option, except sending her to a Home. Accordingly, direction is issued that the detenue by name Rajalakshmi, minor as on date be kept in Government Vigilance Home, Kutchery Road, Mylapore, Chennai 600 004, till she attains majority. It is made clear that if the detenue is willing to continue her studies, the Home is directed to provide the same to her. This petition is disposed of accordingly.
