JUDGMENT : 1. Heard learned amicus curiae and parties on either side. 2. Learned amicus curiae points out that in the capital city of Delhi there is a power shortage approximately to the extent of 750-900 M.W. per day. The affidavit filed by the Government of Delhi is not very satisfactory and does not have any indication to solve this problem. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the NDPL submits that a proposal to have a gas based power plant proposed by the TATAs is pending consideration before the Government since 2003. The Government of Delhi is directed to file a status report within a period of three weeks indicating the concrete plans proposed to be adopted in solving the power crises. Post after three weeks.
