Judgment 1. Learned counsel for the petitioner is permitted to implead the District Magistrate, Patna and the Senior Superintendent of Police, respondent nos. 6 and 7. 2. The petitioner is an accused in Goh P.S. Case No. 8 of 2005 and presently lying at Adarsh Kara, Beur, Patna. 3. Through this writ application, the petitioner has prayed for issuance of a direction upon the respondent authorities to produce him on the eve of Election of the President of India which is scheduled to be held today. 4. Annexure-1 is the details of the Presidential Election of 2007 and according to it a person even if detained in custody is entitled to cast his vote and he should be brought to the polling booth. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner may be brought to the polling booth which is the State Legislative Assembly so that he may cast his vote. 6. There is no opposition to this submission. 7. Respondent authorities i.e. the District Magistrate, Patna, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, the I.G. Prison, Patna and the Superintendent of Adarsh Kara Beur, Patna are directed to produce the petitioner Ran Vijay Kumar @ Ran Vijay Singh with proper escort today i.e. on 19.7.2007 at the polling booth which is situated at Bihar Legislative Assembly for casting his vote in the Presidential Election, 2007 and after casting his vote he will be sent back to Adarsh Kara Beur, Patna. 8. Accordingly, this writ application is disposed of. 9. Let a copy of this order be handed over to the counsel for the State.
