By Order dated 11.3.2005, this Court had permitted laying of optical fibre cable through Kaziranga National Park subject to certain conditions. One of the condition was to the effect that Oil India Ltd. would supply petrol/diesel to the vehicles engaged in the protection of the national park free of cost during the monsoon season. It appears that the cost of Petrol/diesel would be very high. Therefore, we direct that the Oil India Ltd. would pay Rs. 5,00,000/- p.a. to the Kaziranga National Park Authorities for purchase of petrol/diesel for the vehicles used by Kaziranga National Park. 5. I.A. is disposed of accordingly. I.A. No. 2087. 6. NDMC seeks permission for felling of trees and for use of area for improving the facilities in Talkatora Stadium Complex for the ensuing Commonwealth Games. The matter was examined by CEC. The permission is granted subject, to the following conditions: (i) approval under FC Act be obtained. (ii) 5% of the project cost i.e. Rs. 1.74 crores will be deposited with the Ridge Management Board; and (iii) To make special efforts to save as many trees as possible and also where possible NDMC to transplant trees.' 7. NDMC shall also comply with the directions issued by the Ridge Management Board in this connection. 8. NDMC to go-ahead with the work, subject to fulfillment of the above conditions. 9. I.A. is disposed of accordingly. I.A. No. 2072 AND 2083. 10. List on 23.11.2007. 11. CEC to file its report in the meantime. I.A. No. 930 in I.A. 659 & I.A. 669. 12. Response to the recommendations of CEC shall be filed within a period of three weeks. 13. List after four weeks. I.A. Learned counsel for the State Government is directed to file its report regarding deletion of cultivated/cultivable land from the list of forest area prepared within a period of four weeks. I.A. No. 780 with I.A. 818 and I.A. 1290, I.A. 2015 in I.A. 780. 17. Pursuant to our order a sum of Rs. 1048550/- was deposited as FDR and that FDR has to be matured on 7.9.2008. The amount be made over to the society created pursuant to the order of this Court on 12.10.2007. In the order dated 12.10.2007 this Court has directed that the Himachal Pradesh Forest department may constitute and form a society having its area of operation in the entire Kullu district and utilise this money in accordance with the suggestions made by the CEC.
