Judgment :- P.K. Misra, J. The mother of the detenu has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition to direct the First Respondent to produce her minor son, viz., Satish Kumanan, before this Court, who is under the illegal custody of the 2nd respondent, and hand over the son to her. 2. The learned counsel for the Petitioner is absent. Heard Mr.M.Babu Muthu Meeran, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the First Respondent and Mr.Feroz Khan, the learned counsel for the Second Respondent. 3. A status report was filed on an earlier occasion. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the First Respondent on instructions submitted that the investigation is going on, but, the First Respondent-Police has not been able to trace out the "missing boy" till now. However, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the First Respondent-Police will continue in his efforts to trace out the "missing boy". 4. In the facts and circumstances of the case, no useful purpose will be served by keeping this Habeas Corpus Petition pending. This Habeas Corpus Petition is closed with the observation that the First Respondent-Police shall continue in his efforts to trace out the "missing boy". The First Respondent-Police should also keep the Petitioner informed about the progress of the matter by communicating to her from time to time, at least once in every three months.
