Judgment :- S.F.No.27/1, 27/2 etc. admeasuring 191. 5 Hectares in Gopalapuram Village, Aruppukottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District and grant mining lease to the petitioner for mining lime stone from the above said patta lands for a period of 20 years within the time frame fixed by this Court.) Mr. A. Arumugam, the learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. 2. With the consent of the learned counsels appearing on either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal. 3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner company had submitted an application, dated 21. 2004, to the Government of Tamil Nadu, through the District Collector of Virudhunagar District, for the grant of mining lease for mining lime stone from the patta lands of the petitioner, bearing S.F.No.27/1, 27/2, etc. in Gopalapuram Village, Aruppukottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District, for a period of 20 years in Form-1, under Rule 22(1) of the Mineral Concession Rules, 1960. It is further submitted that the respondents have not passed any orders thereon, till date. In such circumstances, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the application on merits, within a specified period. 4. On such submission being made, the second respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioners application, dated 21. 2004, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected M.P. is closed.
