Judgment 1. The petitioners, who are accused in FIR No.244 dated 19.8.2005 registered at Police Station Division No.4, Jalandhar, under sections 498-A, 406, 506, 148 and 149 IPC, have filed this petition under section 407 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for transfer of the said case from the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jalandhar to the court of competent jurisdiction at Chandigarh. 2. Pursuant to the notice issued by this court, reply on behalf of respondent No.1-State has been filed in Court today. The same is taken on record. Copy supplied to counsel for the petitioners. 3. In the petition, it has been stated that the complainant is residing at Jalandhar. He has five brothers, all of whom are financially well settled in Jalandhar, yielding a lot of influence. Therefore, a prayer has been made that for the just and fair trial, the case be transferred from Jalandhar to chandigarh. 4. After hearing counsel for the parties and going through the reply filed by the respondent-State, I do not find any reason to transfer the aforesaid case from Jalandhar to Chandigarh on the aforesaid ground. Dismissed.
