Judgment :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the first respondent. 2. This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to regularise the services of the petitioner with all monetary benefits. 3. It has been stated that the petitioner is working as a panchayat Clerk in the second respondent village panchayat. Even though he has been in service for over 3 ½ years, he has not been regularised in service. Therefore, he had made a representation, on 17. 2003, requesting the respondents to regularise his service. However, no steps have been taken by the respondents in that regard. Therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present writ petition before this Court, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. 4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had submitted that the Government of Tamilnadu had issued a Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.175, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, dated 12. 2006, with regard to the regularisation of the services of the temporary employees and for the fixation of time scale of pay for such employees. The petitioner is eligible to be considered in accordance with the said Government Order and therefore, this Court may be pleased to direct the first respondent to consider the case of the petitioner for regularisation in service, in accordance with the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.175, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, dated 12. 2006, and to pass appropriate orders thereon, within a specified time. 5. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the first respondent has no objection for this Court passing such an order. 6. In such circumstances, the first respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for regularisation in service, in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.175, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, dated 12. 2006, and to pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits, and in accordance with law, in case the petitioner is qualified for being regularised in service, as per the said Government order, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, W.P.M.P.No.8518 of 2004 and W.P.M.P.No.948 of 2008 is closed.
