Judgment :- 1. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents, had placed before this Court, a letter issued by the Joint Secretary to Government, Finance (Allowances) Department, Chennai, which reads as follows: "I am to invite attention to the reference cited and to enclose a copy of Letter No.19023/E5/2008-2, RD&PR Department, dated 14.08.2008. As per the above, the OHT Operators and Sweepers are eligible to draw adhoc increase of Rs.20/-. The copy of the same may be presented to the Honble Judge at the time of hearing and he may be appraised that necessary instructions have already been given to all Collectors to verify whether the adhoc increase have been paid or not to the OHT Operators and wherever the arrears are found to be genuine, steps may be taken to settle the issue. This is for your information and necessary action." 2. In view of the said letter, the learned additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents had submitted, that no further orders are required to be passed in the writ petition, since the members of the petitioner Union who are Overhead Tank Operators and Sweepers are eligible to draw ad hoc increase of Rs.20/-, in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.19, Finance (Allowances) Department, dated 10.01.2002. 3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has not refuted the statements made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents. Hence, the writ petition stands closed as no further orders are required to be passed therein. No costs.
