Judgment :- 1. Writ Petition has been filed seeking Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd Respondents to recover a sum of Rs.1,38,747/- as computed by the Labour Court, Chennai in C.P.No.375/2001 from the 3rd Respondent under the provisions of Revenue Recovery Act as per G.O. (D) No.64 dated 25.01.2005 issued by the Labour and Employment Department. 2. Heard Mr. M. Christopher, learned counsel for the Petitioner and Mr. N. Senthilkumar, learned AGP for Respondents 1 and 2. 3. Ms. S. Hashmath Sultana, Tahsildar, Fort-Tondiarpet Taluk, is also present in the Court. Earlier, 2nd Respondent was expressing certain difficulties on the ground that 3rd Respondent has got head office only in Calcutta and that 2nd Respondent is not in a position to take steps to recover the amount. 4. When the matter is came up for hearing on 112. 2008 and today [212. 2008], learned counsel for the Petitioner has produced the address of the 3rd Respondent stating that 3rd Respondent is having its office at Chennai. In the letter produced by the learned counsel for the Petitioner, 3rd Respondents address is stated as under:- East India Transport Agency (A Unit of E I T A India Limited) No.65, Thatha Muthiappan Street, G.P.O. Box No.174, Chennai-600 001. 5. Learned AGP as well as the 2nd Respondent Tahsildar who is present in the Court would state that all possible steps would be taken to recover the amount from the 3rd Respondent. Second Respondent requested for reasonable time to recover the amount as per Revenue Recovery Act. 6. Recording the statement of 2nd Respondent, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the following directions:- 2nd Respondent is directed to recover the sum of Rs.1,38,747/-as computed by the Labour Court, Chennai in C.P.No.375/2001 from the 3rd Respondent in accordance with Revenue Recovery Act as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of this order.
