Judgment :- The above contempt petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to punish the respondent for wilfully disobeying the order passed by this Court, on 16. 2004, in W.P.M.P.No.19240 of 2004 in W.P.No.16304 of 2004. 2. It is stated by the petitioner that he is a B.Sc. graduate and he had joined the respondent panchayat as a clerk, on 21. 1997. Based on the resolution passed by the panchayat, the petitioners salary was initially fixed at Rs.200/- per month and subsequently, it was raised to Rs.820/- per month. The petitioner was paid the salary only upto the month of September, 2001. Thereafter, election had taken place for the post of President and after the new President had taken charge, the petitioner was prevented from attending his duty, even though no formal order of termination from service was passed. In such circumstances, the petitioner had filed a writ petition before this Court in W.P.No.16304 of 2004. 3. By an order, dated 16. 2004, this Court had granted an order of interim direction, in W.P.M.P.No.19240 of 2004 in W.P.No.16304 of 2004, directing the fourth respondent to allow the petitioner to function as a panchayat clerk in the Muthukondapuram Panchayat, Tiruttani Taluk, Trivellore District. 4. It is submitted by the petitioner that in spite of the interim direction issued by this Court, on 16. 2004, the petitioner has not been permitted to join as a clerk in the respondent panchayat. By an order, dated 23. 2005, the interim direction granted by this Court, on 16. 2004, had been made absolute. 5. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent has submitted that there has been some delay in implementing the direction of this Court due to the reason that the new panchayat president had taken charge and he did not have sufficient knowledge of the order passed by this Court. However, an appointment order, dated 12. 2008, has been placed before this Court, which shows that the petitioner has been re-employed as a panchayat clerk in the respondent panchayat, subject to further orders from this Court. 6. In such circumstances, this Court is of the considered view that no further orders are required to be passed in the contempt petition. Hence, the contempt petition stands closed.
