body2008
JUDGMENT Rajesh Bindal, J.:- Crl. Misc. No.100409 of 2007 Crl. Misc. is allowed. Reply by way of affidavit on behalf of respondent No.2 is taken on record. Crl. Misc. No.7410-M of 2007 2. The prayer made in the present petition is for quashing of FIR No.208 dated 21.11.2000 registered at Police Station Dinanagar, District Gurdaspur, Punjab under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 34 IPC. 3. In view of the affidavit of the complainant filed today along with Crl. Misc. No.100409 of 2007, it is admitted that the matter has been compromised between the parties and the complainant does not want to pursue his complaint. Reliance has been placed upon a Five Judge Bench judgment of this Court in Kulwinder Singh v. State of Punjab, 2007(3) Law Herald (P&H) 2225. 4. Once the matter has been compromised between the parties, no useful purpose will be served by proceeding with the prosecution. Accordingly, considering the law laid down by this Court in Kulwinder Singh’s case (supra), FIR No.208 dated 21.11.2000 registered at Police Station Dinanagar, District Gurdaspur, Punjab is quashed. 5. The petition is disposed of. ————————
