JUDGMENT Rajesh Bindal, J.- The prayer made in the present petition is for quashing of FIR No.118 dated 7.10.2006 registered at Police Station, C-Division, Amritsar under Sections 366-A, 376, 120-B IPC and consequent proceedings thereto. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the FIR was lodged under misconception due to matrimonial dispute between the parties, which has now been amicably settled and they are residing together. 3. An affidavit of the complainant and father of the complainant, has also been filed. Statement of the complainant and her father have separately been recorded. Reliance has been placed upon a Five Judge Bench judgment of this Court in Kulwinder Singh v. State of Punjab, 2007(3) Law Herald (P&H) 2225. 4. The factum of the matter having been compromised between the parties is not disputed. Once the matter has been compromised between the parties, no useful purpose will be served by proceeding with the prosecution. Accordingly, considering the law laid down by this Court in Kulwinder Singh’s case (supra), FIR No.118 dated 7.10.2006 registered at Police Station C-Division, Amritsar and all proceeding consequent thereto are quashed. 5. The petition is disposed of. ————————
