Judgment :- 1. Heard Mr.R.Thamarai Selvan, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, Mr. A.S. Vijayaraghavan, the learned Assistant Central Government Standing Counsel for the first respondent and Mr. V. Viswanathan, the learned Additional Government Pleader for the second and third respondents. 2. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that it would suffice, if the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioners application, dated 26. 1985 (resubmitted on 11. 1993) for the granting of the Central Government Freedom Fighters Pension, namely, Swatrantra Sainik Samman Pension, and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits, within a specified period. 3. The learned counsels appearing on behalf of the respondents, have no objection for such an order being passed by this Court. 4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioners application, dated 26. 1985 (resubmitted on 11. 1993), on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to furnish to the first respondent a copy of the application, dated 26. 1985, along with a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
