ORDER : Altamas Kabir, J. On 5-5-2009, when these matters were heard, but the hearing could not be concluded, we had directed them to be adjourned till today for passing of orders on the hearing conducted with regard to issuance of notice on the writ petitions. We had also directed the contempt proceedings to be listed for consideration along with the writ petitions. While passing the said order, we had indicated that in the event the writ petitioners wanted to file any additional applications, they would be at liberty to do so before the filing authority provided for the petitioners appearing in person. 2. Today, we have heard the learned Attorney General, the learned Solicitor General as well as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association in regard to the two orders which were passed on 20-3-2009. Leila David v. State of Maharashtra, 2009) 4 SCC 578, on account of which the matters were referred to the Special Bench. Certain submissions have been made and judgments have been referred to, copies of which have been handed over to the petitioners appearing in person. The petitioners pray for some time to consider the same. 3. Let these matters stand over till 20-8-2009, when we shall continue with the submissions with regard to the two orders passed on 20-3-2009. Leila David v. State of Maharashtra, (2009) 4 SCC 578 . The petitioners in person will be entitled to reply to the submissions made by the Attorney General and the others on that date. We also make it clear that the writ petitions will also stand adjourned to that date for passing of orders. 4. We have been informed by the petitioners that they had tried to file applications in connection with these matters pursuant to the liberty given on 20-3-2009, but their applications have not been entertained. 5. The Registry and the filing authority provided for the petitioners appearing in person are directed to accept the applications which may be filed, subject to the Supreme Court Rules relating to such filing. A complete set of all the paper books be made available to the learned Solicitor General.
