ORDER Crl. M.C. No. 2526 of 2008 1. I have heard learned Counsel for the parties. 2. Learned Counsel for the petitioners states that petitioners and the complainant/respondent No. 2 have amicably settled their disputes. He further states that the complainant, Ms. Nidhi Mehta, who is present in Court today does not wish to pursue the proceedings arising out of her complaint which was then recorded as FIR No. 849/2005 under Sections 498-A/ 406/468/ 467/420/120B, IPC, registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar. He further states that no useful purpose will be served in continuing with the criminal proceedings when the parties have amicably settled their disputes. Learned Counsel for the State also agrees with the same. Learned Counsel for respondent No. 2/ complainant, Mr.Rajesh Manchanda as also the 10 ASI Harcharan Singh identifies Ms. Nidhi Mehta, the complainant. Let her statement be recorded. 3. Since the husband/petitioner No. 10 of the complainant is not present, let the statement of his power of attorney, Mr. Sanjay Mehta, be recorded. Learned Counsel for the petitioners, Mr. Ashok Soni, identifies Mr. Sanjay Mehta. 4. Statements of Ms. Nidhi Mehta and Mr. Sanjay Mehta, power of attorney of petitioner No. 10/husband, have been recorded. 5. In view of what has been stated by learned Counsel for the parties and also the statements of Ms. Nidhi Mehta and Mr. Sanjay Mehta, it would be proper that the matter is put to rest finally as no useful purpose would be served in continuing with the trial in which Ms. Nidhi Mehta is not supporting her case. 6. Accordingly, FIR No. 849/2005 under Sections 498A, 406, 468, 467, 420, 120B, IPC, registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar and all the proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed. The petition is disposed of accordingly. Dasti. Petition disposed of.
