The conditions stipulated by the Chief Wildlife Warden will be strictly complied with. 8. The State Government is agreeable to the aforesaid conditions. The Irrigation Department of the State of Uttar Pradesh is seeking permission for construction of an embankment on the left bank of the River Ganga from Village Sherpur to Village Theg falling in the Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary. CEC has examined the proposal and has recommended the following recommendations subject to which permission may be granted: 1. Approval of the Standing Committee of NBWL shall be obtained before starting any work on the project; 2. 5% of the estimated project cost of Rs.24.58 crores will be deposited in the Compensatory Afforestation Fund for implementing the mitigative measures, suggested by CWLW, in the sanctuary; 3. For the use of the non-forest land falling within the sanctuary, the NPV will be deposited as per the Hon'ble Court's order dated 28-3-20081 in the NPV matter; and 4. The conditions stipulated by the Chief Wildlife Warden will be strictly complied with. 17. The above conditions are acceptable to the State Government. Subject to fulfillment of the above conditions, the project is approved. 18. The IA is disposed of accordingly. IAs Nos. 2712-/3 in IAs Nos. 2352-53 19.
