Judgment :- The prayer in the writ petitions is to direct the respondents to consider and select the applicant/s to the post of Sweeper in the first respondent Municipality pursuant to the selection held on 09.08.1998 by the 1st respondent pursuant to his letter in Na.Ka.No.10351/96 H1 dated 25.6.98. 2. There is one petitioner in W.P.34532/06 and 12 petitioners in W.P.34496/06. All the petitioners belong to the Adi Dravidar Community. They applied for appointment for the post of sweeper in the first respondent Municipality in the year 1998. They attended the interview along with all relevant records. Out of the total number of persons who were called for the interview, inspite of sufficient vacancies, some were appointed and the petitioners were ignored. Therefore the present original petitions are filed for grant of relief as above. The O.A.s has been filed in the year 1998. At this point of time, the petitioners would have come up in seniority in the Employment Exchange and could have been suitably employed in any other post, in any other department and the present status is not clear as per the counsel for the petitioners. 3. In view of the above if the petitioners are still in search of employment the first respondent Municipality is directed to consider their case for suitable Employment subject to the petitioners being sponsored by the Employment Exchange concerned. The petitioners are permitted to make their representation to the Employment Exchange to forward their names for any suitable employment. The authorities shall consider the social status of the petitioners for suitable employment in accordance with the rules and regulations. The writ petitions are disposed off accordingly. No costs.
