JUDGMENT Rajan Gupta, J.: (Oral).:- This is a petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. praying for pre-arrest bail in a case registered against the petitioner under Sections 307/148/149 IPC and 25/54/59 of Arms Act vide FIR No.100 dated 10.5.2010 at Police Station Sahnewal, District Ludhiana. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has argued that there is no serious allegation against the petitioner in the FIR and his involvement in the crime is doubtful. He, therefore, prays that petitioner be granted concession of pre-arrest bail. 3. Heard. 4. A perusal of the FIR shows that complaint was lodged by a student of mechanical engineering, who after coming back from his village in the morning hours of the day of occurrence, was standing near college reception. At that time, petitioner along with co-accused came there and assaulted the complainant. After few hours, the accused petitioner provoked others to assault the complainant. The complainant was then again attacked by petitioner-Jaspinder Singh Sidhu and other co-accused. Another co-accused Atinder Pal Singh took out his revolver and fired some shots, one of which grazed the neck of the complainant. As the complainant fell down, he was given kicks and fist blows by all the accused. One of the accused even fired at the brother of the complainant who was trying to save the complainant. 5. Having regard to seriousness of allegations, I am of the considered view that no case for concession of prearrest bail is made out. In view of increasing incidents of campus violence, any such concession would only encourage similar incidents. In fact, custodial interrogation of the petitioner may be necessary for taking the investigation to a logical end. Dismissed. ------------
