Judgment : This writ petition has been filed praying for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, challenging the order of the second respondent, dated 24.6.2009, removing the petitioner from the post of President of Sengundram Village Panchayat Union, Vellore District. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice if the appeal, dated 5.8.2009, filed before the first respondent, under Section 205(12) of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, challenging the order of the second respondent, dated 24.6.2009, is directed to be disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had submitted that the petitioner had already been heard by the first respondent in the appeal filed by the petitioner, on 5.8.2009. 3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has no objection for this Court passing such an order. 4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties concerned, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal, dated 5.8.2009, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if it had not been disposed of, till date. 5. The petitioner is directed to furnish to the respondent a copy of the appeal, dated 5.8.2009, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this Court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs.
