ORDER: 1. More and more the writ petitions are heard, strange things are coming out. The petitioners assert that the connecting road that was proposed to be laid was to start from 82/4 KMs on Eluru-Gundugolanu-Kovvur road on Kovvur side and to join at 197/4 on NH-5 on Rajahmundry side. The counter-affidavit clearly states that the proposal was approved by the Government vide G.O.Ms.No.205 TR&B (R.I) Department, dated 29/11/2006. 2. The petitioners assert that the said alignment was changed and now the acquisition of the land is starting from 84.4 KM on Kovvur side. 3. The counter-affidavit is silent as to whether the said GO was either superceded or whether any fresh proposal was approved by the R&B Department. The variation between the two proposals is very vast. 4. Hence, the Chief Engineer, R&B Department, is directed to place before this Court as to whether the proposals were modified subsequently and the reasons therefor. Post on 15/06/2010.
