Judgment :- 1. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner may be permitted to make a representation to the respondents seeking permission to hold a meeting relating to "Tamil Martyrs Day" and the respondents may be directed to dispose of the representation, within a stipulated period. 3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had also submitted that, on similar request, the petitioner had been permitted to hold a meeting, on 26.11.2009. He had submitted that certain other groups and political parties had been permitted to hold such meetings, during the year, 2010. In such circumstances, the respondent should be directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, favourably. 4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent, has submitted that, as and when the petitioner submits a representation to hold the meeting relating to "Tamil Martyrs Day", the same would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed, on merits and in accordance with law, taking into account the prevailing factors at the relevant point of time. 5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the respondent, the petitioner is permitted to make a representation requesting the respondent to grant the necessary permission to hold the meeting relating to "Tamil Martyrs Day", furnishing all the necessary particulars. On such representation being made, the respondents shall consider all the aspects mentioned in the representation and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
