JUDGMENT Mr. Ajai Lamba, J. - This petition has been filed under Sections 482 Criminal Procedure Code for quashing FIR No. 53 dated 02.04.2005 under Sections 458/323/341/506/148/149 Indian Penal Code, P.S. Sadar Nabha, District Patiala. 2. It has been pointed out that the parties are residing in the same village and locality and belong to the same caste, rather they live in adjoining houses. On intervention of the respectables, the disputes have been settled amicably by way of compromise. The complainant has sworn an affidavit in evidence of compromise which has been placed on record as Annexure P-2. 3. Learned counsel for the respondent-complainant endorses the factum of compromise. Even the complainant is present in person as identified by her counsel and states that all the disputes have been settled by way of compromise. The affidavit sworn by Gurmeet Kaur, the complainant on 24.02.2010 has been filed in Court which is taken on record. In the affidavit also, it has been clearly stated that the FIR be quashed. The contents of the petition have been admitted. 4. Learned counsel for the respondent-State contends that if the FIR is quashed on the basis of compromise, the State would have no objection. 5. Considering the nature of offence; the parties are residents of the same locality in the same village; continuance of proceedings shall not serve any purpose in law and continuance of proceedings would not be in public interest, this petition is allowed. 6. FIR No. 53 dated 02.04.2005 under Sections 458/323/341/506/148/149 Indian Penal Code. P.S. Sadar Nabha, District Patiala and consequent proceedings are hereby quashed. Order accordingly.
