Since Respondent 1 is duly represented on caveat, service of notice on the said respondent is dispensed with. 2. Let a copy of the notice, as well as the special leave petition, be served on Ms Asha Gopalan Nair, learned Standing Counsel for the State of Maharashtra, to enable her to take instructions on behalf of the State of Maharashtra. 3. Let this matter stand over till next Wednesday (24-8-2011) and be listed at the top of the list for further hearing. 4. The interim order passed on 16-8-2011, Union of India v. Hassan Ali Khan, 2011 (12) SCC 681 will continue till Friday week. 5. In the meantime, the petitioner, Union of India, will be entitled to file its response to the affidavit filed on behalf of Respondent 1.
