Judgment :- 1. Writ Petition is filed praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to issue a direction to the first respondent directing him to renew the licence and remove the seal from the Shop Portion at Old No.5, New Door No.17, Pulianthope High Road, First Line, Pulianthope, Chennai-600 012, based on the petitioner's representation dated 14.2.2011. 2. Mr.V.Bharathidasan, learned counsel, takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for disposal. 3. Petitioner claims to be running a beef stall and a licence was issued and expired in March, 2008. He sought for renewal of licence and that has not been granted. He made a representation on 14.2.2011 to the second respondent in this regard. Petitioner's counsel states that the grievance of the petitioner will be met if a direction is given to the second respondent to consider the representation. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents state that the authority, the second respondent, shall consider the representation in accordance with law within a reasonable period of time as may be directed by this Court. 5. Considering the nature relief sought for and the submission made by the learned counsel for the respondents, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 14.2.2011 on its own merits and in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any view on the claim made by the petitioner. The writ petition is ordered as above. No costs.
