Judgment :- 1. The petitioner has stated that a preliminary notice, dated 9.8.2007, had been issued by the respondents proposing to enhance the annual value, from Rs.1,33,006/- to Rs.2,41,223/-, with effect from II/2001-02, on the basis of the total area of 5,900, sq.ft. 2. It has been further stated that the petitioner had raised objections, in respect of the said notice, before the first respondent, in the year, 2007. However, a copy of the objections, said to have been raised by the petitioner, had not been filed before this Court. 3. In such circumstances, the petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the objections, said to have been filed in the year, 2007, before the first respondent, within ten days from today. Thereafter, the first respondent shall consider the objections raised by the petitioner, in respect of the preliminary notice, dated 9.8.2007, and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereafter. Till such appeal is disposed of, as directed by this Court, no action shall be taken by the respondent against the petitioner or his tenant, with regard to the payment of the property tax, in respect of the premises No.9, Mooker Nallamuthu Street, Chennai. However, it is made clear that the petitioner shall continue to pay the admitted property tax, in respect of the property in question. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Connected M.P.No.1 of 2011 is closed.
