JUDGMENT Kurian Joseph, C.J. The writ petition is filed with the following prayers:- “i) That the respondents may be directed to allow the petitioner to join as constable in IR Battalion, Sakoh, District Kangra for which he has been duly selected. ii) That the respondents may also be directed to get verify the Freedom Fighter Certificate from the concerned quarters, if so required for the respondents.” 2. Admittedly, the petitioner does not have the certificate of ward of Freedom Fighters issued by the competent authority. In the case of the petitioner the competent authority is the SDO (Civil), Kangra. There will be a direction to the SDO (Civil), Kangra to look into the matter in the light also of the materials produced by the petitioners in the writ petition and take appropriate action in the matter of issuance of the certificate, in accordance with law within a week from the date of production of a copy of this judgment along with the copy of the writ petition, by the petitioner. Subject to the outcome of the action, thus taken by the SDO (Civil), Kangra, the required follow up action shall be taken by the second respondent. The petitioner will also extend all necessary cooperation to the SDO (Civil), Kangra in the matter. 3. The writ petition is disposed of, so also the pending application(s), if any.
