It is not disputed by the learned Counsel for the parties that the interest was to be paid from the date of issuance of the notification under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act and not from the date of possession. 2. Consequently, with the consent of the parties, the award passed by the District Judge, Shimla in Land Reference No. 13-S/4 of 1998, dated 1.11.1999 is altered to the extent that the claimants shall be paid interest from the date of issuance of the notification under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act. The appeal stands disposed of, so also the pending application(s), if any. No costs.
