Judgment :- 1. This writ petition has been filed praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorari to call for the records relating to the impugned entry of the amount of Rs.90,782+Rs.2,723+Rs.60 made by the second respondent in the white meter card bearing A/c No.181-034-594 of the petitioner and quash the same. 2. The impugned entry totaling a sum of Rs.93,565/- (Rs.90,782+Rs.2,723+Rs.60) entered in the white meter card of the petitioner bearing A/c No. 181-034-594 has been made without proper notice and the basis on which such demand has been made has not been indicated which causes hardship and prejudice to the petitioner. 3. Mr.A. Selvendran, learned counsel appearing for respondents 1 and 2 states that the aforesaid demand has been made towards arrears of current consumption charges. He, however, states that the authority concerned will give proper notice calling upon the petitioner to pay the said amount by following the due procedure contemplated under the Tamil Nadu Electricity Code. 4. In view of the above, the entry made to the tune of Rs.93,565/- on the white meter card bearing A/c No. 181-034-594 stands set aside and the authorities are directed to proceed afresh in the matter by following due process of law. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. There will be no order as to costs.
