JUDGMENT Deepak Gupta, J. The main claim of the petitioner is that he should be promoted from the rank of Head Constable to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector. The claim is based on the ground that in the seniority list number of the petitioner is 12887 and persons who were lower to him in the seniority list have been promoted. 2. Reply has been filed by the Union of India and it is pointed out that in fact in the seniority list the number of petitioner is 15142 as per Annexure R-1 and not 12887 which is actually allotted to head constable Suraj Lal. Therefore, the entire basis of the case of the petitioner is incorrect and none of his junior was promoted before him. In the mean time, the petitioner also stands promoted. Therefore, nothing survives in the petition which is accordingly rejected. No costs.
