Judgment :- 1. Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader (Taxes), appearing on behalf of the respondents. 2. In view of the fact that the petitioner had withdrawn the writ petitions, in W.P.Nos.26421 to 26423 of 2008, the impugned order of the second respondent, dated 30.03.2011, is set aside. The second respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner, dated 20.12.2010, for settlement of the arrears of Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax, said to be payable by the petitioner for the assessment years 2002-03, 2003-04 and 2004-05, and to pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. The writ petition is ordered accordingly. No cost. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
