Judgment :- 1. Writ Petition is filed praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to recognize the petitioner to the post of President of Villianoor Commune Panchayat. 2. Mr.E.Vijay Anand, learned Government Advocate (Pondicherry), takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 3. Petitioner claims to have been an elected President of the Village Panchayat on resignation of the erstwhile elected President. The second respondent in spite of representation dated 18.4.2011, has failed to accept the election of the petitioner as President of the Village Panchayat and even the meeting as per the procedure prescribed under the Act has not been conducted. The representation has not been considered so far by the second respondent. Hence, the writ petition. 4. Mr. E.Vijay Anand, learned Government Advocate (Pondicherry) states that if the second respondent has not disposed the representation so far, the same will be considered as per the law. 5. Considering the limited relief sought for and the submission made by the learned Government Advocate, the second respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation dated 18.4.2011 as per the procedure prescribed under law on or before 6.5.2011. 6. The Writ Petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
