JUDGMENT :- 1. Heard Mr.K.S.Natarajan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as Mr.Abdul Saleem, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had contended that the second respondent has passed the impugned order, dated 28.12.2005, without giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, rejecting the request of the petitioner, for the renewal of registration, as a Forest Contractor, for the year, 2006. Therefore, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner had prayed that the impugned order, dated 28.12.2005, passed by the second respondent, may be set aside and the second respondent may be directed to pass orders, afresh, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. 3. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court. 4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, the impugned order dated 28.12.2005, passed by the second respondent, is set aside. The second respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for the renewal of registration, as a Forest Contractor, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. The writ petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
