JUDGMENT :- 1. The writ petitioner, who was directly recruited as a Grade II Police Constable on 01.07.1986, has been upgraded as Grade I police Constable on 22.07.1997 and further upgraded as Head Constable on 22.07.2010, was removed from service on disciplinary grounds by the Superintendent of Police, EOW.II, Chennai-40, by order dated 31.01.2011 and that was served on the petitioner on 04.03.2011. It was, against the said order, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the respondent on 12.04.2011 and the present writ petition is to consider the said appeal and to pass orders. 2. Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 12.04.2011 against the order of the Superintendent of Police, EOW.II, Chennai-40 dated 31.01.2011, which was served on the petitioner on 04.03.2011, on merit and in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of t his order. No costs.
