Judgment :- 1. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 2. This writ petition has been filed, praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the first and the second respondents to give suitable instructions to the respondents 3 to 6 not to seize the petitioner's lorries bearing Registration Nos.TN-74-U-2092, TN-74-U-9313 and TN-75-3154, without following the procedures established by law. 3. It is a well settled position that such a blanket order cannot be passed by this Court, restraining the respondents to follow the procedures established by law. It goes without saying that all authorities are expected to follow the procedures, as per law, in seizing the vehicles concerned. 4. As such, this Court does not find sufficient cause or reason to grant the relief, sought for by the petitioners, in the present writ petition. Hence, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. However, it would be open to the petitioners to approach the authorities concerned or to agitate the matter before the appropriate forum, if the vehicles in question are seized, without following the procedures established by law. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
