Judgment 1. Mr.S.Kanmani Annamalai, the learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondent. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice if the impugned order of the respondent, dated 31.1.2012, is set aside and the petitioner is given a fresh opportunity to file its objections to the notice, dated 22.3.2010, for the assessment year 2004-05, along with the relevant records, and if the respondent is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period. 3. The learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondent, has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court. 4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, the impugned order of the respondent, dated 31.1.2012, is set aside. The petitioner is permitted to file its objections to the notice, dated 22.3.2010, for the assessment year 2004-05, along with the relevant records. On receipt of such objections, the respondent is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks thereafter. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Connected M.P.No.1 of 2012 is closed.
