Judgment Common Order 1. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned counsels appearing for the respondents. 2. The above writ petitions have been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to issue Writs of Mandamus to direct the third respondent, to appoint the petitioners in the Periyanagamam Town Panchayat, in the regular time scale of pay, from the date on which regular vacancies had arisen in the said Town Panchayat. 3. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petitions, a counter affidavit had been filed on behalf of the first respondent. Paragraph 6 of the counter affidavit reads as follows: "6.) It is further submitted that the proposals for appointment of Time scale of pay of this respondent were sent to the Government through the Director of Town Panchayats vide this Respondent Office Reference – Na.Ka.No.184/06, dated 4.7.2006. Further clarifications sought by the Government have been sent through the Director of Town Panchayats, for regularizing the services of the petitioner, as and when necessary orders are received from the Government the services of the petitioner will be regularized and will be paid on the basis of regular time scale. In the mean while as pointed out by the petitioner, it is submitted that no attempts are being taken to appoint the New Sanitary Workers." 4. In view of the statements made in Paragraph-6 of the counter affidavit filed on behalf of the first respondent, the third respondent is directed to consider the claim of the petitioners, for being regularised in service, as prayed for by them, in the above writ petitions, and to pass appropriate orders, as expeditiously as possible. The writ petitions are ordered accordingly. No costs.
