Judgment :- 1. Writ Petition No.16226 of 2012 is filed praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records in pursuance of the notice in Ref Na.Ka.No.220/2012 dated 05.06.2012 issued by the third respondent and quash the same with a direction, directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application under Tamil Nadu Regulation of Wood Based Industries Rules, 2010 and issue licence to petitioner's Sawmill. 2. Writ Petition No.16227 of 2012 is filed praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records in pursuance of the notice in Ref Na.Ka.No.220/2012 dated June 2012 issued by the third respondent and quash the same with a direction, directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application under Tamil Nadu Regulation of Wood Based Industries Rules, 2010 and issue licence to petitioner's Sawmill. 3. Mr. M.K. Subramanian, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3. Mr. G. Vasudevan, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the fourth respondent. By consent both the writ petitions are taken up together for final disposal. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner pleads that the grievance of the petitioners will be met if a direction is issued to the second respondent District Forest officer to consider their application. 5. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, the second respondent District Forest Officer is directed to consider the petitioners' applications under the Tamil Nadu Regulations of Wood Based Industries Rules, 2010 for grant of licence, subject to the approval by the competent authority as directed by the Hon'ble Apex Court in T.N. Godawarman Thirumulpad - Vs. -Union of India (IA Nos. 276 with I.A. Nos. 413, 437, 453 and 454 in WP(C) No.202 of 1995 in its order dated 29.10.2002. The second respondent is directed to process the applications expeditiously. 6. Both the Writ Petitions are disposed of as above. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
