Judgment :- Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, as well as the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of petitioner had submitted that this Court, in similar matters, had directed the respondents concerned to provide electricity service connection, without insisting on the Completion Certificate/No Objection Certificate, from the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, in respect of the building in question. 3. In one such order, dated 2.11.2010, made in W.P.No.21425 of 2010, this Court had directed the respondent Electricity Board to provide electricity service connection to the premises of the petitioner, without insisting on the Completion Certificate/No Objection Certificate, from the Metropolitan Development Authority. 4. From the counter affidavit filed on behalf of the third respondent, dated 29.3.2012, signed on 27.3.2012, the deviations in the building in question do not seem to be major in nature. However, it is made clear that it would be open to the third respondent authority to assess the deviations, if any, and to initiate appropriate action against the petitioner, in accordance with law. The grant of electricity service connection in favour of the petitioner shall not entitle him to claim any vested right and it would not improve the case of the petitioner, in any manner, insofar as to the deviations are concerned. The first and the second respondents shall provide the electricity service connection, in favour of the petitioner, if he is otherwise eligible, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is ordered accordingly. No costs. Connected M.P.No.1 of 2011 is closed.
