ORDER Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondents. 2. This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner challenging order dated 20.07.1998 by which the Special Officer, Ara Municipal Corporation (respondent no.2) discharged the petitioner from his service while he was posted as a sweeper. 3. It is quite surprising that against the order passed on 20.07.1998 the instant writ petition had been filed in the year 2005 without giving any valid reason for such an inordinate delay. In paragraph-15 of the writ petition the petitioner has only stated that he was suffering from Jaundice and he remained under the treatment of Jaundice for more than three years. Neither any dates are given with respect to the ailment nor any prescription or certificate of the doctor has been annexed to support the said claim. However, in any view of the matter, this writ petition had been filed after seven years and some explanation is sought to be given only for three years. Mere filing of representation before the authority and waiting for its result for more than a year, shows the attitude of the person, who files a writ petition, whereas this writ petition has been filed after seven years without any proper explanation. Courts are meant for vigilant persons and not for indolents. 4. Thus, in the aforesaid facts and circumstances, this court does not find any reason to interfere in the matter and accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed.
