Judgment :- 1. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent. 2. Even though the petitioner had prayed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to forbear the respondent from initiating or taking any coercive action to collect the property tax from the petitioner, in respect of the Assessment No. 5450 relating to the property at Door No.1, Maraimalai Adigalar Street, Pammal, Chennai, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the petitioner is permitted to make a representation to the respondent, raising all the grounds available to him, including the grounds raised in the present writ petition and if the respondent is directed to dispose of the same, on merits, within a specified period. 3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has no objection for this Court passing such an order. 4. In view of the above, the petitioner is permitted to make a representation to the respondent, relating to the matter in question, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such representation, the respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereafter, after giving an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No cost. Connected M.P.No.1 of 2012 is closed.
