Judgment :- 1. This Writ Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents from locating an Indian Made Foreign Liquor shop in the premises bearing door Nos.184 and 185, Sholinghur Road, Old Bus Stand, Arakkonam, Vellore District. 2. The petitioner has stated that the proposed Indian Made Foreign Liquor Shop cannot be located at Door Nos.184 and 185, Sholinghur Road, Old Bus Stand, Arakkonam, Vellore District, in view of the existence of schools, temples and churches, within the prohibited distance of 100 metres from the proposed location. 3. A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the third respondent stating that the Writ Petition has become infructuous, in view of the fact that the shop had already been located at Door Nos.184 and 185, Sholinghur Road, Old Bus Stand, Arakkonam, Vellore District. 4. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the first and the second respondents had placed a report, dated 02.11.2011, filed on behalf of the second respondent, along with a chart showing the location of the Indian Made Foreign liquor shop. From the said chart, it is noted that there are no temples, churches or schools located within 100 metres from the Indian Made Foreign Liquor Shop, at Door Nos.184 and 185, Sholinghur Road, Old Bus Stand, Arakkonam, Vellore District. In such circumstances, this Court is of the view that the Writ Petition filed by the petitioner is devoid of merits. Hence, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
