ORDER : I.A. No. 17 of 2011 in IA No. 244/2009: STATE OF MANIPUR: 1. The State of Manipur has fully complied with the directions of this Court. UNION TERRITORY OF PUDUCHERRY: 2. So far as the Union Territory of Puducherry is concerned, it is stated that they are taking steps to comply with the directions of the Court and have approached the Central Government for obtaining necessary permission. Mr. C.S. Rajan, senior advocate appearing for the Union Territory of Puducherry, assures the Court that by July 2012, all the recommendations of the Justice (Retd.) Padmanabhan's Committee, as approved by this Court, shall be fully complied with. STATE OF BIHAR: 3. The State of Bihar has complied with all the directions, except one, relating to grant of medical facilities to the judicial officers. Counsel appearing for the State of Bihar submits that the direction with regard to medical facilities will also be implemented very shortly in compliance with the recommendations of the Shetty Commission, as approved by this Court. STATE OF JAMMU & KASHMIR: 4. Mr. Sunil Fernandes, counsel appearing for the State of Jammu & Kashmir, states that the directions of this Court have been substantially complied with and whatever remains shall also be complied with within four weeks time. STATE OF ORISSA: 5. No one appears for the State of Orissa, which is yet to comply with the directions of this Court. 6. Before issuing a notice of contempt, we would like to give the State one more chance to comply with all the directions of this Court in letter and spirit. 7. We grant two months' further time to the State of Orissa for fully complying with the directions of this Court, if not already complied with. STATE OF GUJARAT: 8. Ms. Hemantika Wahi, counsel appearing for the State of Gujarat, submits that all the directions have been complied with, except the ones relating to: (i) giving revision of pensions to the retired Judges; and (ii) extra allowances to the administrative posts held by the judicial officers. 9. As prayed, four weeks' further time is granted to the State of Gujarat for compliance. OTHERS: 10. As far as States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are concerned, four weeks' further time is granted to comply with the directions of this Court and file affidavits to that effect. 11. 9. As prayed, four weeks' further time is granted to the State of Gujarat for compliance. OTHERS: 10. As far as States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are concerned, four weeks' further time is granted to comply with the directions of this Court and file affidavits to that effect. 11. Put up on July 13, 2012. I.A. No. 266/2009: 12. The order passed in respect of the State of Orissa in IA No. 17 of 2011 above shall govern this IA. Contempt Petition (C) No. 364/2011: 13. The directions of the Court stand complied with. 14. This contempt petition is, thus, rendered in-fructuous and is dismissed as such. I.A. Nos. 240 and 255 of 2008: 15. Put up on July 20, 2012 for final disposal.
