ORDER 1. An extent of Acs.3.08 guntas of land in different survey numbers of Mustafa Nagar Village, Gambhiraopet Mandal, Karimnagar District, was acquired, way back in the year 2006, under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short 'the Act'), for providing house sites to the poor in the village. A list of 40 beneficiaries, including the name of the petitioner, is said to have been prepared. The grievance of the petitioner is that though more than five years have elapsed, the respondents have not finalized the matter, as yet, and that herself and other landless poor are suffering. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Revenue. 3. The petitioner has placed before this Court, a copy of the declaration, dated 11.01.2006, under Section 6 of the Act, published on 31.01.2007. Proceedings were initiated long before that. In case, the matter pertaining to the acquisition has assumed finality, there cannot be any justification in not distributing pattas to eligible persons. Keeping the land open would expose it to encroachments, and several complications would arise. 4. Hence, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondents to finalize the distribution of house sites, in respect of Acs.3.08 guntas of land in different survey numbers of Mustafa Nagar Village, Gambhiraopet Mandal, Karimnagar District, acquired by initiating land acquisition proceedings, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. The miscellaneous petition filed in this writ petition also stands disposed of. 6. There shall be no order as to costs.
